February of The Penguins!

I actually drew these this past summer, during a walk through at the Biodome in Montreal,Que. I personally prefer drawing @ the Toronto Zoo, as it offers a much wider variety of animals.

Klusshance

This is the third design post for this character as he continues to evolve. I've gone for a leaner, less round design. I've made the eyes a little smaller as well. I think he's looking more solid & more appealing... I'm working on "Strut Style" 34fr walk for him at the moment (traditionally animated!)... hopefully I will have it show soon!

~ BoUncN' BiKini ~

- ^I went back over this drawing (Sept 09), I guess it could be the next frame in her run. I tweaked the design a little and tried to make the drawing a little more solid. Especially in the face.



Looking over my posts, I thought I would try and do a piece with the female subject and something with a little more weight...so here she is. She'd be fun to animate... maybe someday :)
And here's a question to get a little audience participation.

Clusshance - II

- More from my character design of Clusshance. His character is based on a bedtime story, my dad used to tell my brother's and I as kids.... I'm thinking of someday expanding the story...Still, a work in progress.

The ladies will love him, ...he's a real gentleman.

OFF TO THE ZOO! part 2

- Orangutan studies. Definitely one of the most entertaining and my personal favorite to study @ the zoo. The way they make use of their feet, They practically have 4 arms!. They swing effortlessly through the indoor structure. Also very intelligent amongst the primates. The Orangutans in these drawings; are of the mother, the sister and 3 yr old brother.

Boy Scout 2

- I thought I'd post a couple more drawings of the "Boy Scout" character. I've tightened the design a little more. pushing the eyes closer together seems to work a little better.
- some may think Pixar's "UP" Russel character inspired this character, but Boy Scout was created long before I knew of the movie. What can I say, great minds think alike...?

OFF TO THE ZOO! part 1

So I recently bought a membership to the Toronto Zoo, and have been there twice now. Here are a few sketches from the trips! it really is AMAZING observing the animals there.
I've added color to a few in Photoshop.
The human onlookers provide material for drawing as well :)>
My goal is to educate myself further and improve with every visit...There will be more to come!
